Testing Testing Testy

I'm trying out a new way of posting to the blog. It's an application called Marsedit.

That excitement aside, it's been a busy week, and I've just been having fun tidying up my home inbox. I'm a fan of a system called 'GTD' for Getting Things Done, by a guy called David Allen. V systematic way to keep stuff under control, and clear your mind of the stress of not ever being sure where stuff is, or what you are supposed to be doing. It's a bit cultish but has helped me a lot, at work mostly but also at home. I still don't know where my glasses or car keys are, obviously, but otherwise I am much better sorted out these days.

It's been a busy week: stuff going at work, a couple of games of squash, a Trout Unlimited Board Meeting (why don't people know how to run meetings--it drives me nuts). Plus, I've signed up for Literacy Volunteers of Mercer County, so have to go to a 3-hour training session to teach me how to teach illiterate people how to read. At least, that's the idea, but it seems to have morphed into teaching immigrants how to speak English. Just as worthy I think, especially as this country moves to be more like Europe and question how many immigrants are allowed in. The more the merrier, I say, of course, but it's a terrible thing to see America, of all places, start to think about closing its borders.

Anyway, Friday was the first night I wasn't out, so we watched a movie and then I stayed up too late watching Pogues videos, and listening to Arcade Fire. This is them playing my new favorite song at Glastonbury. I thought the lyric started "I don't wanna work in a deli downtown", but it turns out to have been a building not a sandwich shop and the song is about 9/11, not luncheon meat.
